The past few weeks have been super crazy, hectic, fun, crazy, busy, did I mention crazy?? I have been working with the Petite Elite Baby boutiqe for a couple of years now. They have been gracious enough to let me hang my work up in their amazing store and they have sent more families my way than I can count. We have been talking about the possibilty of them giving up a corner of their store to me for a studio for some time and three weeks we just decided to go for it! So, I have officially opened a studio!!!! This has been a dream of mine, to have a space to work in, meet clients and shoot mini sessions. I will still be shooting the majority of my sessions on location but I will be changing the way I am going about things just a tad. For instance, ordering sessions. You will still get an online slideshow to view after your session to share with friends and family, that will not change. Once you have had a chance to look over your gallery, we will meet in the studio for a personalized ordering session where you will be able to view your prints in person as well as get your hands on all of the products I offer. Trust me, you are going to LOVE IT!!! Since the light is amazing in the studio I will be shooting sessions there as well.

It is only fitting that I share some pictures from my first official client to have an ordering session in the new studio. She came to me when their little boy was just a baby so it was so much fun to meet his new sister!! What a great family!!

My poor blog, you have been so neglected. It’s not that I meant to neglect the blog, in fact blogging is one of my favorite things to do but things have been a little crazy around here. But I am back and will be posting some VERY exciting news in the next couple of weeks so keep be sure to check back.

It’s no secret that I LOVE newborn babies. I have for as long as I can remember. There is really nothing better than a fresh new subject but it’s not just the babies. It’s the energy surrounding them. Mom’s and Dad’s glowing with excitement, Grandma’s and Grandpa’s watching their babies having babies. It just never gets old. When I walked in on this day to photograph this baby I just knew it was going to be a good day, I had a feeling. And it was. She was so good to me, and even though she peed in my lap, I loved her none the less :) I don’t get to photograph baby girls often enough (I still don’t know why) so it is a rare treat. Couldn’t you just eat her up?

Since I photographed her youngest at home when he was only a week old, we wanted to do something different this time around. I have always wanted to do a session on the trolley in Ybor city and when I suggested it she was super excited! Her boys love the Curious George movie and soundtrack so a treck around the city was the perfect fit. Even though it was SO HOT they were such little troopers and we had the best time!

We finished our trolley ride and said our goodbeyes and as they were leaving I heard mom mention ice cream! I couldn’t pass up an oppurtunity for ice cream so I invited myself along for what turned out to be ice cream and french fries!! I am so glad that I decided to tag along because we had as much fun eating as we did running around and riding trolleys. Thanks for a great day in the city guys :)

I just did this session today and I cannot wait another second to post about it. I photographed thier first baby two years ago when he was three weeks old so when she called me this week and asked me if I could squeeze her in for pictures of their new baby the answer was of course YES, YES, YES!! They took a long hard road to get to where they are and they could not be more in love with these two boys. Without a doubt their cup runneth over.

She is really still a baby herself and she already has a baby sister. She will never really know life without her. They will likely be only one year apart in school and I imagine they will share everything. There will be times when they wish the other wasn’t so close, always there but most of the time they will be eachother’s best friend. They say everything you ever needed to know you learned in kindergarten. I think they were wrong; I think you learn everything you ever need to know from your sister. I know I did.

When I was in Dallas a few months ago, some really good friends of our family asked me to do their engagement photos. I was ecstatic! I had so many ideas, and really the bride is one of the sweetest people I know. Little did I know, her husband turned out to be just as amazing! We had such a blast and they were so totally up for anything which always just gets my creative juices flowing that much more. I really loved shooting in Dallas; there was so much color and so many endless possibilities. It almost makes me want to shoot weddings…. almost. I think I will leave that up to the experts ;)

It is almost impossible to believe how fast the past year has gone. He is our last baby, and I think maybe that is why time is slipping away so quickly. His birthday was full of lots of tears for me; something that caught me completely by surprise. And while I love watching him grow, I can’t help but want to slow down the clock. He is becoming a big boy, starting to do big boy things (although he is not even acting like he is ever going to walk) and I am soaking it all in; knowing that in a blink of an eye he will be a man. I am honord to be his mom and will spend every moment absorbing as much as I can.

My dear friend Kristie Serra and I headed down to Ybor the day before his birthday to scout out some fun new locations for some upcoming shoots I have scheduled. We rode the trolley and Kristie was nice enough to take some shots of the two of us together. And of course I had to add in the fun shot of Kristie pushing Brody in the stroller (sorry Kristie). So even though I had grand plans of how I would photograph him for his first birthday, these are the shots that I love.

Photography has been a blessing in my life in so many ways, and there is nothing more rewarding than being able to document an event  for someone who you love so much. I am truly honored that my sister and now brother in law trusted me enough to photograph their wedding. It was so much fun watching them this past weekend; it is obvious that they are going to have a long happy life together. They are best friends and are an inspiration to be around. Thanks for including us in your special day. I love you.

I know, I know it’s only August!! It’s hard to believe that September is almost booked (I have two spots left) and October is already half full. This is a beautiful thing, I love seeing how my clients have grown and meeting new clients but I HATE turning people away! So, with that being said if you are interested in booking a session this fall pretty please call me NOW!! The deadline to place orders for Christmas cards and prints is November 1st. Depending on how full my schedule looks, I may open up some dates for mini sessions which will be designed for those of you who are looking for 10 to 15 images and holiday cards. If you are interested, please email me or leave a comment below. If you are pregnant and interested in booking a newborn sessions, please email me and I will fit you into my schedule.

And because all business and no photos is just well WRONG I will share this super fun session I did at the beach a few weeks ago. If it weren’t for the sun going down, we could have gone all day (well at least I could have; I was having way too much fun) I’ll say it again, I have the best job ever!

I seem to have a shortage of girls to photograph. I don’t know why that is. Maybe I attract boys in my life, after all I have three myself. And don’t get me wrong, I adore little boys but it’s just wrong to dress them up all frilly and girly so it is a welcome change when I get to play with little girls. Emily was no exception, she is sweet, and girly and smiley and I enjoyed every last second that I spent with her.
