Since I photographed her youngest at home when he was only a week old, we wanted to do something different this time around. I have always wanted to do a session on the trolley in Ybor city and when I suggested it she was super excited! Her boys love the Curious George movie and soundtrack so a treck around the city was the perfect fit. Even though it was SO HOT they were such little troopers and we had the best time!

We finished our trolley ride and said our goodbeyes and as they were leaving I heard mom mention ice cream! I couldn’t pass up an oppurtunity for ice cream so I invited myself along for what turned out to be ice cream and french fries!! I am so glad that I decided to tag along because we had as much fun eating as we did running around and riding trolleys. Thanks for a great day in the city guys :)

I just did this session today and I cannot wait another second to post about it. I photographed thier first baby two years ago when he was three weeks old so when she called me this week and asked me if I could squeeze her in for pictures of their new baby the answer was of course YES, YES, YES!! They took a long hard road to get to where they are and they could not be more in love with these two boys. Without a doubt their cup runneth over.

She is really still a baby herself and she already has a baby sister. She will never really know life without her. They will likely be only one year apart in school and I imagine they will share everything. There will be times when they wish the other wasn’t so close, always there but most of the time they will be eachother’s best friend. They say everything you ever needed to know you learned in kindergarten. I think they were wrong; I think you learn everything you ever need to know from your sister. I know I did.

When I was in Dallas a few months ago, some really good friends of our family asked me to do their engagement photos. I was ecstatic! I had so many ideas, and really the bride is one of the sweetest people I know. Little did I know, her husband turned out to be just as amazing! We had such a blast and they were so totally up for anything which always just gets my creative juices flowing that much more. I really loved shooting in Dallas; there was so much color and so many endless possibilities. It almost makes me want to shoot weddings…. almost. I think I will leave that up to the experts ;)

It is almost impossible to believe how fast the past year has gone. He is our last baby, and I think maybe that is why time is slipping away so quickly. His birthday was full of lots of tears for me; something that caught me completely by surprise. And while I love watching him grow, I can’t help but want to slow down the clock. He is becoming a big boy, starting to do big boy things (although he is not even acting like he is ever going to walk) and I am soaking it all in; knowing that in a blink of an eye he will be a man. I am honord to be his mom and will spend every moment absorbing as much as I can.

My dear friend Kristie Serra and I headed down to Ybor the day before his birthday to scout out some fun new locations for some upcoming shoots I have scheduled. We rode the trolley and Kristie was nice enough to take some shots of the two of us together. And of course I had to add in the fun shot of Kristie pushing Brody in the stroller (sorry Kristie). So even though I had grand plans of how I would photograph him for his first birthday, these are the shots that I love.

Photography has been a blessing in my life in so many ways, and there is nothing more rewarding than being able to document an event  for someone who you love so much. I am truly honored that my sister and now brother in law trusted me enough to photograph their wedding. It was so much fun watching them this past weekend; it is obvious that they are going to have a long happy life together. They are best friends and are an inspiration to be around. Thanks for including us in your special day. I love you.
