I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and enjoys family, friends and food. Our family is headed out of town until Monday to spend some time with our family for the Thanksgiving Holiday. I will be returning all emails and phone calls when I return.

And to keep this from being a strictly business post I want to share some photos from a recent session at the beach. It was fun capturing this little guy growing up over the past year and his one year birthday shoot was no exception!!

My eight year old nephew Aiden who I adore with all my heart sent me an email today asking me to “bite back” and donate a mosquito bed net to protect children from malaria in Africa. We went to the site and donated one mosquito net for each of the children in our family. This cause touched my heart and me realize that we can make a small difference in other peoples lives. So in hopes to make an even bigger difference I am extending an offer. Make a donation to Bite Back and receive $50 off a session fee between now and December 31st.

Between now and December 31st, you make a donation to help stop the spread of malaria and receive $50 off a session with me. And please help spread the word by sending the link to your friends and family.

I am sad to report that Petite Elite baby is closing their doors after seven years :( While I am very saddened by this, it will not in any way effect my business. I am currently booking clients for the holiday season and always look forward to seeing all the wonderful families again!

The last time I photographed this little girl she was brand new. I just have such a hard time believing how fast time goes and these little ones are confirmation of that. They are dear to my heart and I treasure watching them grow :)

Shooting in the studio is so fun for me, the  natural light pouring in is so good to me and there is something to be said for knowing the space well. I am a lucky girl. Families like this don’t hurt the process either ;)

You might remember this couple that I photographed a few month ago.  Their little man has arrived and something tells me he is pretty loved.

He was more tolerant than he had a right to be when his mom and I oh so carefully placed him in his dad’s racing helmet. He was actually quite comfortable in there. It has been such a pleasure getting to know their family and I can’t wait to watch him grow.

I have decided that with the new blog site will also come a little different approach to blogging. I will still feature recent sessions but I will also be adding in a little more of “me” in between. I am an extremely open person, most often wearing my heart on my sleeve and I share who I am with the world whole heartedly, so why not show a little more of that here. After all, my business is very personal to me so it seems perfectly fitting.

Today I want to talk a little bit about my girlfriends. You know who you are. You get me through the day with your skypes, phone calls, random text messages and if I am lucky a lunch date. You have laughed with me, cried with me, encouraged me and given me a good old fashioned, in your face, hard to swallow dose of reality when I need it. And even when I haven’t talked to you in ages we pick right back up where we left off  like no time has passed. I know that I would not be where I am or who I am without you in my life and for that I am eternally grateful.

Speaking of friends, a couple weeks back I got an email from the folks at NAPCP, The National Association of Professional Portrait Photographers. They are an amazing resource for photographers like myself and also have a wonderful blog for parents! They asked if I would be willing to feature one of my posts on their blog and of course I said YES! It was particularly flattering since the post they wanted to use happens to be one of my very dear friends.

I am so beyind thrilled to present my new blog site! My amazing friends at Luxecetera did it again. I swear they know me so well that the very first design they showed me was perfect! Take some time to look around, I filled the galleries with brand new images (although this wasn’t hard to do since I hadn’t updated the images in my old site in ages). I am also excited to have my blog and web site in one place; what a beautiful thing! Thank you Luxecetera, I love you!!! xoxoxo
