I met this beautiful new family last week when this beautiful one month old’s mom called in to say that she wanted pictures of her new baby but missed “the window”. If you have read my site, had your baby photographed by me, or talked to anyone about newborn photography you have surely heard the 7 to 10 day rule. Babies photographed in their first week of life are sleepy, pliable and in general more cooperative than those photographed outside the window. So what does this mean for those of you who really want to capture your new baby but for whatever reason didn’t do it in that first week? As I told this new mom, you can absolutely still get amazing images of your little one. Sure, you could wait until they are three months or even six months old, which are both great ages but very different than those first weeks of life. Babies breeze through their first year so fast, before you know it you’re blowing out those first birthday candles. So my advice to you is, don’t delay! Schedule your session wether it’s with me or another Photographer (but of course I do hope it’s with me), don’t delay. They are only this little for a very short time. Can you imagine if she hadn’t called?

It is no secret that I love photographing High School Seniors and when her mom called from Maryland to schedule a session on their spring break, I was thrilled beyond belief. Her very good friend had already done a session with me so they trusted me and were up for anything. I had so much fun with Jennifer and her friends and could not love her family more. Thank you for coming all the way from Maryland and taking time out of your vacation to spend the evening with me!

Six months | South Tampa Baby Photographer

To say that I fell in love with this little guy would be a gross understatement. His mommy brought him to the studio for his photo shoot and he smiled and flirted with me the entire time which of course melted my heart. Six to seven months is one of my favorite stages to capture. Babies just seem to be so impressed with their ability to sit upright in the world and all my songs and funny noises are amusing. And let’s not forget they can’t crawl away which makes my job so very easy!

The Studio will be closed until January 2nd 2011

I feel so completely blessed to have such amazing clients. It has been an eventful year, meeting new clients and watching others growing older and moving into my new beautiful studio. Thank you to every one that trusted me enough to capture the special times in your lives, you make it possible for me to do what I love. I will spending the rest of the year with my family and will be returning on Monday January 2nd. Happy Holidays to you and I look forward to working with you in 2012!

It’s hard to believe that she was just a baby when I photographed her for the first time. She was just as big a ham for me then as she is now. Her mom and I are ridiculous when we get together, talking for hours. . . . I treasure her not only as a client but also as a friend. One day I am photographing this sweet, fresh newborn baby and what seems like the very next day I get the call that she is turning ONE! How is that possible? I promise you it felt a couple of months ago at most that I was meeting this family for the first time just days after their very first child was born and here we are. One year later. It is such an honor and privilege to be invited back to document yet another milestone in their life….

211 South Howard Avenue | Our new digs

I cannot describe to you how excited/settled/giddy I feel about this long awaited announcement. It has been almost a year since my friends at Petite Elite baby whom I shared a studio with closed their doors and I have to admit it has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for me finding a new studio. I have been desperate to find a place where I can settle in and be creative. A place to meet with clients and shoot. My wish list was long and I wasn’t completely sure I was going to find the perfect space. I have always been a believer of fate and when I stumbled across the listing for this 1917 Bungalow online I knew fate was working overtime! Within ten days, I was moving in. Somebody pinch me, this is too good to be true!

I am lucky enough to have the most amazing makeup artist in the space with me, Brandi Lynn Tort who will be available to all of my clients who are interested in having their makeup professionally done for their photo shoot. FH Weddings and Events is also joining us on this venture with a beautiful space to meet with their future brides! Although I am sure things will be changing a bit as I get new photos on the walls and put the finishing touches on things, I wanted to share some photos I took today. One of my favorite clients stopped by for some updated photos and she was sweet enough to leave me a message on my recently painted chalkboard door. How am I ever going to erase it? Thanks Sophie!!

The new studio is located at 211 South Howard Avenue in Tampa between Cleveland and Platt Street across from Mangroves. Come by and see us anytime. You may even meet our studio kitty, Little Black Kitty Kat aka LBKK. He has been here for many years and we are happy to be sharing this amazing space with him!
